Job Description:
Exercises direct, first-level supervision of positions, employees, operations and activities. Serves as a representative of the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, demonstrating a positive attitude and progressive actions through a display of professionalism, courtesy and appropriate tact and discretion in all interactions with other employees, inmates and the public. Supervises, evaluates and ensures the protection and movement of inmates housed within the Fremont County Detention Facility. Interprets policies and procedures for staff and inmates. Plans, allocates and monitors time, people, equipment and other resources for the Detention Facility to ensure efficient organization and completion of work. Develops, communicates and monitors policies, procedures and standards of the Detention Facility. Prepares investigative reports, sketches and drawings, using appropriate grammar, symbols and mathematical computations. Physically controls inmates involved in altercations with other inmates or employees. Required to control and subdue violent criminals. Serves as the Coordinator by developing, documenting and taking steps to comply with the standards established by the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA).
High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Minimum of two (2) years’ detentions or corrections experience and/or training, with a minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience at corporal level or higher, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid and current Colorado Driver’s License. First Aid/CPR certification required. Arrest control (PPCT) certification required
