Join a Practice Where Leadership Makes a Difference

Buena Vista Family Dentistry is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and highly organized Office Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our Buena Vista office.

We are a well-established, multi-doctor dental practice serving the beautiful communities of Salida and Buena Vista, Colorado. Our team is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care, outstanding aesthetic and clinical results, and an experience built on integrity, trust, and genuine connection with our community.

With state-of-the-art facilities and the latest dental technology, we provide comprehensive preventive, cosmetic, restorative, and implant dentistry.

We are looking for a confident, people-focused leader who can bring organization, accountability, and positive energy to our team while helping our practice continue to grow and thrive.

The Opportunity

As Office Manager, you will work closely with our doctors and team to ensure the practice operates efficiently, professionally, and in alignment with our commitment to exceptional patient care.

You will be a key leader within the practice—supporting our team, strengthening systems, managing financial operations, solving problems, and helping create an environment where both patients and employees feel valued.

The ideal candidate leads by example, communicates clearly, builds strong relationships, and is comfortable balancing the people, financial, and operational sides of a busy dental practice.

Key Responsibilities

Practice Operations & Leadership

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve operational policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Ensure the delivery of consistently high-quality dental care and an exceptional patient experience.
  • Partner closely with doctors and team members to identify opportunities, solve challenges, and improve practice performance.
  • Maintain an organized, efficient, and professional office environment.

Financial Management

  • Oversee payroll, accounts payable and receivable, banking activities, financial reporting, and other accounting functions.
  • Develop and manage budgets while monitoring expenses and overall financial performance.
  • Evaluate practice fees, services, supplies, and equipment costs and recommend changes that support long-term financial success.
  • Assist with debt and asset management and other financial initiatives.

Team Development & Management

  • Lead, motivate, and support the managerial, administrative, and clinical support teams.
  • Recruit and hire talented team members and oversee onboarding and training.
  • Create and maintain job descriptions and clearly defined performance expectations.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and, when necessary, manage disciplinary actions and terminations in collaboration with the doctors.
  • Create staff schedules that support excellent patient service and optimal practice productivity.
  • Step in to support front-desk operations and scheduling when staffing needs arise.
  • Coordinate continuing education and professional development opportunities.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state employment laws and dental regulations.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and other applicable standards and guidelines.
  • Stay current on regulatory requirements and best practices affecting dental practices.

Marketing & Practice Growth

  • Collaborate with the doctors and team to develop and support effective marketing initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen patient retention, practice growth, and financial performance.
  • Help communicate and reinforce the practice's philosophy and values throughout the organization.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking someone who is both people-oriented and business-minded—a leader who can confidently manage the operational details while never losing sight of the patient experience.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 2 years of management experience, preferably in healthcare or dentistry.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment regulations, dental regulations, and operational best practices.
  • Experience with financial management, budgeting, and data analysis.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • A calm, professional approach when handling challenging or stressful situations.
  • The ability to build trust and strong working relationships with doctors, team members, and patients.
  • Strong conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills, including the ability to appropriately address patient concerns and team challenges.
  • The ability to learn quickly, understand complex responsibilities, and take initiative.
  • Proficiency with standard office technology and software, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
