Job Description

As lead worker for child support or eligibility programs, this position will provide administrative supervision, direction and decision-making, consultation to other employees within their unit, and assistance with training of new employees.

Qualifications:

Education and or Experience:

Case Manager Level III (Lead Worker): Education and or Experience: Bachelor’s degree with a major in human behavioral sciences or related field. Minimum of one year full-time, paid professional work experience obtained in a social services agency at the Case Manager Level II.

Economic Security Technician and Child Support Specialist Level IV (Lead Worker): Education and or Experience: Graduation from high school or GED equivalency. Must have been or be at a level III in the respective areas to qualify for the Lead Worker position.

Specific Knowledge, Skills or Ability Required:

Level III Case Manager and Level IV Economic Security Technician, and Child Support Specialist (Lead Worker):

  • Must demonstrate leadership ability in knowledge, skills and abilities listed under Level I, II, III in general job description as well as those listed below.
  • Skilled in scheduling and performing administrative review and/or appeal hearings.
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of how your role/team fits into and impacts other teams within the unit and Department.
  • Ability to perform with leadership stability under pressure and during adverse and possibly dangerous or emergency situations.
  • Ability to maintain smooth working relations with all internal co-workers and external partners.
  • Ability to make practical decisions that reflect sound judgment, considering liability issues, and appropriate alternatives and resources.
  • Ability to provide consultation to or respond to inquiries from Department employees, other professionals, outside agencies, or others concerning area of expertise or about general Department services.

Will ensure best practices are being met by the team

Additional Requirements:

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:  Proof of valid Colorado driver’s license, vehicle in safe operating condition, and liability insurance must be on file at all times.
