Job Description

Job Type: Hourly

Wage: $27.31/hr.

Location: Canon City, CO.

Job Description:

Conducts investigations into criminal acts against the laws of the State of Colorado.  Gathers facts, conducts interviews and collects evidence. Responds to crime scenes and collects evidence.  Engages in investigation of criminal cases such as auto theft, armed robbery, missing persons, homicide, vice, narcotics, fraud and crimes involving youths.  Prepares affidavits in support of search or arrest warrants and provides case details to the District Attorney for possible prosecution.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Two (2) years from an accredited college or field related technical school preferred; two (2) to four (4) years’ experience as a Patrol Deputy, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Successful participation in ongoing training will be required.

Additional Requirements:

Valid and current Colorado Driver’s License.   First Aid/CPR certification required and must be maintained. Firearms qualifications required with assigned weapon system in compliance with policy and procedure.  Arrest control (PPCT) certification required. Colorado Peace Officer Certification required C.R.S. 16-2.5-103.  Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
